How do I remove the wire terminals?

Removing wires from terminals requires specific methods depending on the terminal type.

Push-button terminals: These terminals typically feature a push-button mechanism. First, carefully examine the terminal to locate the actuation point, which is usually marked or raised. Using a suitable tool-such as tweezers or a small flat-head screwdriver-gently press this area while steadily pulling the wire out in the direction of insertion/removal. Apply moderate pressure to avoid damaging the terminal structure.

Locking terminals: These terminals use a locking mechanism to secure the wire. Locate the lock, which may be a small plastic tab or a metal clip. Using a fine, pointed tool (like a toothpick or a thin needle), carefully pry or lift the lock to release the wire, then slowly pull the wire out of the terminal. Exercise caution during this process to prevent the locking mechanism from breaking.

Screw-clamp terminals: For this type, use the appropriate screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the wire by turning it counter-clockwise. Once the screw is sufficiently loosened, the wire can be easily removed from the terminal. Be sure to keep the screw safe during the process to avoid losing it.
